Aan Boord Cargo Ships Vietnam’s First Ever Bus Exports to Dominican Republic

“Belgian Owned Company to Ship 200 Buses Overall”

Vietnam, Ho Chi Minh City, October 8, 2005 – Aeroceanetwork member and Belgian owned Aan Boord Cargo (ABC), to ship the first ever buses made in Vietnam for export to the Dominican Republic. These Transinco branded buses were manufactured by Vietnam Motor Industry Corporation and are a total contract worth USD 9 million. The first lot to ship is 40 buses with a USD 1.6 million value. By winning a contract to export locally-made buses, Vietnam's automobile industry sees it both as a good sign as well as a major challenge on the path to enter the regional and world markets in the future.

Aan Boord Cargo was contracted by the trader’s side, Sewon Maritime Logistics, a Korean based specialist for transportation of passenger cars, heavy equipments, trucks, and buses. The carriage of the first lot of 40 buses will be aboard the Taiwanese vessel, Ducky Symphony, owned by Ro Ro Line. Ben Line Agencies are the general agents for Ro Ro Line in Vietnam. ABC will be arranging the shipment of the buses from Haiphong port to Busan port in South Korea where they will be transshipped to Latin America by Sewon Maritime Logistics.
